The West and South Australian Governments are offering significant funding to electricians, students or individuals interested in pursuing UEE40420 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation. Eligible electricians, students, and individuals who meet specific requirements can take advantage of the government funding for specialised training programs.

 

The Governments of Western Australia and Southern Australia have selected the top training programs, ensuring their citizens are better equipped to secure jobs and contribute to the Australian economy.

 

With financial assistance from both states, certain courses will be available at a substantial rebate, making it easier for individuals to access and benefit from these training courses.

Eligibility Check

  • Unrestricted electrical licence
  • Drivers License
  • Proof of Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Proof of State residency – 2x different bills in your name (eg. utilities/ rates/ phone/ car rego etc)

Scope

This certification offers the process and control skills necessary to choose, install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment in buildings, premises, instrumentation systems, and core instrumentation equipment. It covers the ERAC specifications for an “Electrician’s Licence.”

Course Aim:

On course completion, students will receive UEE40420 Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation.Students are eligible for full qualification if:

  • They have an unrestricted electrical licence issued by a state or Territory and have proved their excellence in both theoretical and practical training.
  • They have completed all the levels of competency provided in the training package (Please refer to https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/UEE40420).

This course intends to increase the proficiency of students in the fields of electrical instruments and PLCs. We will provide industrial exposure to students in process instrumentation and control. With SA and WA govt funding, our courses are now easily accessible to everyone. We will also provide students with a head-start to enter the oil and gas or mineral processing industry by training them in PLC interfaces with HART-compliant field instrumentation.

Training Approach

The training module is 50% theory, and 50% practical training in a blended format using tools that are likely to be found in a typical modern industrial setting, including HART-rated instrumentation and final control components with PLC control systems.

Priority Industry Training is available from the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD), through PIT Funding we are able to offer a heavily subsidised price on priority qualifications to prepare participants to take up jobs in skilled occupations that are in high demand across Western Australia.

On purpose-built hazardous areas and instrumentation skids/facilities with HART-compliant field instruments and Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC Control System, you will receive personalised, hands-on training from the qualified and experienced instrument and electrical professional trainers in the following areas:

1. Pressure (suppression/elevation of the transmitter)
2. Level Radar / Ultrasonic configuration
3. Conductivity level configuration
4. Flow – configuration and control, including Magnetic flow meter operations
5. Calibration of Temperature Transmitter with RTD and Thermocouple
6. Program digital and analog PLC. Download, test, and fault-find PLC program on PLC hardware
7. Configuration of smart devices via HART Modem and Hand-Held Configurator
8. Reading P&ID and 2 and 4 Wire loop drawings. Verify the drawings against installed equipment.
