This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises.
This competency-based training program is delivered face to face theory and practical content delivery with a comprehensive note, ongoing tutor support and a practical design and installation task.
Statement of Attainment provides competencies to undertake design, install, configure, test and commission grid connected power supply systems to AS/NZS 5033:2014.
After obtaining the Statement of Attainment, the student can apply to the Clean Energy Council of Australia for Design & Installation of Grid Connected PV Systems Accreditation. The Clean Energy Council website indicates the information required to apply for Clean Energy Council Accreditation. www.solaraccreditation.com.au
It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s license’.
This course is designed and encourages electrician who have an electrician’s qualification and wish to further improve their skills by gaining a qualification to design and install grid connected photovoltaic systems
PRE-REQUISITES
This course is a post trade training, so a current unrestricted electrical license issued by any Australian state or territory.
Electrical engineers who meet the pre-requisites will be issued with Statement of Attainment for the units they complete successfully.
Each state-specific funding may have it’s own eligibility pre-requisite requirements.

Statement of Attainment (SOA) – UEE41920 Certificate IV in Electrical – Renewable Energy
This Statement is issued to a student who has successfully completed one or more units of competency but does not meet the requirements for a full qualification (as specified in the training package) and to Graduate Electrical Engineers.
You will undergo theory and hands on practical training with qualified professional Electricians and Engineers who have been practicing in the PV Solar energy industry for over 30 years. The solar grid connect PV course covers the following topics:
There is a written design project on the completion of face-to-face delivery and assessment
Blended delivery of 60% theory and 40% practical training with equipment that you are likely to see in a typical domestic roof top grid connected PV system.
Funding may be available for eligible participants (WA only).
Priority Industry Training is available from the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD), through PIT Funding we are able to offer a heavily subsidised price on priority qualifications to prepare participants to take up jobs in skilled occupations that are in high demand across Western Australia.
