Statement of Attainment provides competencies to undertake to design, install, configure, test and commission grid connected power supply systems to AS/NZS 5033:2021.

After obtaining the Statement of Attainment, the student can apply to the nominated accreditor appointed by Clean Energy Regulator for the Design & Installation of Grid-Connect PV Systems Accreditation.

Target Workforce

This course is designed and encourages electricians who have an unrestricted electrical license and wish to further improve their skills by gaining a qualification to design and install grid- connected photo-voltaic systems.

PRE-REQUISITES
To be awarded a Statement of Attainment, you must hold a current unrestricted electrical license issued by an Australian state or territory. Engineers with Electrical background are eligible to be awarded with design-only units.

Training Method

Blended delivery of 60% theory and 40% practical training in a range of activities and PV system components that you are likely to see in a typical domestic grid connected PV System.

  • Face to Face flexible delivery and assessments allows students understands and discuss the vital knowledge prior to participating in the practical component.
  • PMV trainer marks the assessments and provides feedback or additional technical information to the students.
  • Intensive hands-on installation, fault finding and regulatory requirements experience.

OUTCOME

Statement of Attainment (SOA)

This Statement is issued to a student who has successfully completed one or more units of competency on meeting the prerequisite requirements.

Engineers with Electrical background are eligible to be awarded with design-only units (UEERE0054 & UEERE0061)

UEERE0054Conduct site survey for grid-connected photovoltaic and battery storage systems
UEERE0061Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems
UEERE0080Install photovoltaic power conversion equipment to grid
UEERE0081Install photovoltaic systems to power conversion equipment

Training Content

You will undergo theory and hands-on practical training with qualified professional Electricians and Engineers who have been practicing in the PV Solar energy industry for over 30 years. The solar grid connect PV course covers the following topics:

  • Design grid connected power supply systems and select compatible components
  • Shading Analysis (Path Finder and Sun path diagram)
  • Install systems on different types of roofs
  • Installation of rails, modules and DC Isolator (de-energized) and finer points of installation
  • Demonstration of pre commissioning tests (Short circuit test, Insulation resistance test etc.)
  • Commissioning and Decommissioning a system
  • Fault-finding on a system

There is a written design project on the completion of face-to-face delivery and practical installation assessment.

CITB Rebate*
