This post-trade professional development gap training is aimed at those keen participants, who have completed UEE40420 Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation and those who are keen on learning and gaining electrical engineering competencies at the next level of complexity.
This course is for anyone involved in “managing integrity and compliance” of the site electrical installation to local regulation, i.e. design, project engineering specification, inspection and diagnose faults/ maintenance. The course creates a pathway to become a Technical Authority and Team Leader responsible for ensuring compliance of the site electrical equipment to local regulations and latest AS/NZS standards. Electricians and instrument technicians in supervisory roles are the most common attendees.
PRE-REQUISITES
This course is a post trade training, so a current un-restricted electrical license issued by any Australian state or territory is required.
Blended delivery of 40% theory and 60% practical training with equipment that you are likely to see in a typical industrial environment in hazardous areas with HART rated instrumentation with PLC control system.
* Self-study time (roughly 5-6 weeks) is required in addition to PMV face-to-face training of 18 days.
You will have up to two years to complete your course work. You will be scheduled to attend a total of 30 days of face-to-face training. It is expected that in between sessions you will need to undertake some self-study. A shorter duration may be appropriate for those with credit transfers.

You will undergo one-on-one practical training with industry-experienced and qualified Instrument and Electrical Professional Trainers in the following areas on the purpose-built hazardous areas and instrumentation skids/ facilities with HART compliant field instruments and Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC Control System:
PMV offers a small size class with flexible training to accommodate difficult rosters / work schedules.
Eligible candidates across Western Australia will receive WA funding and get qualified in high-demand skilled occupations.
